I believe in showing support to those in recovery will help the over 40 million Americans struggling with addiction. Show them you care and you have compassion.
The idea came to me last year when it hit me that there are symbols or stickers to show others that you’re a gay friendly person (the wonderful rainbow), and it dawned on me that this would be a powerful way for the greater community to start a campaign to identify Recovery Friendly people, businesses, workplaces, and more…
Addiction has touched everyone’s life in some way. Whether it be a family member, a friend, a friend of a friend, or work connections…addiction has penetrated the social construct. We know now that addiction does not discriminate. It doesn’t matter if your rich or poor, black or white, or raised in a good home or not, addiction penetrates all barriers.
